Travee on Travelholics: Two Founders, Up to 40 AI Agents and a Shared Vision

How do you build a travel technology company when AI is part of everyday work from the outset? Our co-founder Conrad Mildenstrey explores that question with host and travel technology entrepreneur Roman Borch in episode 429 of Travelholics – Der Podcast der Touristik.

Two founders and a team of specialized AI agents

Since starting Travee in 2025, we have been building the company as a husband-and-wife founding team with a clear vision: to support travelers from their first ideas and plans through to their experiences at the destination. The conversation explores both that product and how we are building the business behind it.

AI also plays a role in our own organization. Dedicated agents support areas including marketing, market monitoring, growth and product management. In product development, we adjust the number of agents to the task. For more complex projects, 20 to 40 agents can work in parallel at times.

These agents handle different tasks, use suitable models and tools, and pass their results to one another. This helps us explore more ideas as a small founding team and develop our product vision with comparatively limited capital.

Responsibility stays with us

Having more agents does not mean a company runs itself. Setting goals, choosing priorities, reviewing results and providing fresh ideas remain our responsibilities as founders. In the episode, Conrad explains how we combine human judgment with the capabilities of specialized AI.

That matters particularly in the early stages of a travel technology business. A product often requires substantial development before it can generate its first revenue. Our way of working helps us navigate that stage and experiment with new approaches.

Travel companionship beyond the itinerary

Within Travee, we also bring together different AI technologies and tools. Depending on what a traveler needs, different models and specialized functions can support tasks such as planning, research and audio guides.

Our vision extends into the destination itself. A Live Guide can use voice and camera to offer support in the moment, explain sights or help travelers understand signs and menus. What matters to us is connecting these capabilities into a continuous travel companion experience.

When personal assistants organize travel

The conversation also looks ahead: what might happen when personal AI assistants work directly with specialized services? A personal assistant could, for example, ask Travee to plan a trip on someone's behalf.

That possibility raises interesting questions for tourism. How can travel services be useful to both people and their digital assistants? And how will people and specialized systems work together?

Thank you to Roman Borch for the invitation and the open conversation about our work, our vision and the questions we are exploring along the way.
